San Francisco? Why Not!

When I was at the park Friday, I just thought that we should go to San Francisco.  I texted Rinar with my proposition. He texted me back and asked why. I replied, "Why not?"

So we went. We stayed in a hotel in Vacaville and the oldest 3 went swimming for a while as I put the little ones to bed.  Eli especially had a blast. He just loved swimming with his Daddy.

Then we were off to San Fran in the morning. Shockingly, it was quite foggy, so we didn't get the good views of the bridge, but we sure did try. There were a lot of Asians at the lookout point. I guess we were quite a spectacle for them because of the blonde hair, especially Julia and Harry in the red wagon. They were taking pictures of them and were touching their hair and stuff.  We really drew a crowd when we took this picture.

The Golden Gate Bridge really is behind us, I promise.

Then we went to get a bite at Mel's Diner. It was pretty good. Rinar got a Monte Cristo, although it was not quite as good as The Gable House monte cristo.

We headed over to Fisherman's Wharf and stayed for about 45 minutes. It was just way too crowded for our little brood.  It is not much fun when you are stressing out about losing little children in a large crowd, on top of the fact that you can't go very fast and you really can't go in any of the cute shops. But it was a beautiful day and the weather was quite nice.

I think we stopped at least 5 times for Eli to go to the bathroom on the way home. This was at the McDonald's in Carson City. He had an epic poopy, so the kids all waited in the car.  Julia had just finished up lollipop #3.

When You Gotta Go!!!

For Christmas, Rinar and I thought it would be a great idea to use his frequent flier miles and hotel points to give his sister Aislinn and her husband Jason a weekend getaway to San Francisco. We also told them that babysitting was included (this was before I was pregnant, or even contemplated the possibility that I would ever have twins again). They came last night and stayed here so they could leave for their morning flight. Now, I am the overwhelmed mother of seven kids.

But I digress...

Rinar worked on finding a place for everyone to sleep last night. Our kids ended up sleeping on the futon in the living room. Raef wasn't feeling well, so Rinar gave him one of my nice silver mixing bowls to have by his side in case he needed to throw up or anything like that.

{{{Or anything like that...}}}

Today started out with a bang. What do you expect when there are 7 kids running around the house. I still managed to do some school work with the kids. Jayde and Xayden joined in on some of the fun. Then I took them all to the park next to the violin teacher's house. She did the lessons, I watched all the kids and we got it all done. Then we headed over to another park that was much more fun, after a quick stop at the grocery store for some fudgesicles. It was well worth the stop.

Leaving was tricky as I could not find on of Cayleb's shoes anywhere. I looked and looked and it was just gone. We had to leave without it.

Then we got home and I exiled all the kids to various corners of the house for naptime/reading time. It was quiet for a little while. I was picking up stuff as the kids emerged from seclusion, when I noticed the silver bowl had a yellowy liquid in it.

Could it be? Was it possible?

Do I really need to elaborate for any of you?

I was flabbergasted and asked Raef what the heck it was all about. He said he was scared and too dark to go to do his business in the proper recepticle.

The mind of a seven year-old. What can I say?

I am so proud of his problem-solving skills.
